Cleaner Image Marble Countertop Restoration
Giving Marble Countertops a Fresh Start Instead of Replacing Them
Hey everyone, it’s Raegan Thorp here with the Raegan Thorp Real Estate Group, and today I wanted to share something we recently did in our kitchen that completely transformed our countertops without replacing them.
I was joined by Brittany from Cleaner Image Marble, and honestly, this process blew us away.
A few weeks ago, we shared a video about our countertops and the restoration process we were considering. I’ll be honest — I had to really convince my husband David to give it a shot. He wasn’t totally sold on the idea at first.
But once the work was finished? He loved it so much he joked that we needed to “Saran Wrap the countertops” so no one could use them!
That’s how dramatic the transformation was.
What Was Done to the Countertops?
Brittany explained that the process we used is called a Resurface, Hone & Seal.
The resurfacing process essentially gave our marble a fresh start. Think of it like exfoliating your skin — it removed years of etches, ring marks, water spots, and everyday wear and tear.
Or as David called them… “memories.”
Once the surface was restored, the countertops were honed to create a beautiful, uniform matte finish. Then they were sealed to help protect against water and oils.
One important thing Brittany shared is that sealers help protect stone from water and oil stains, but they do not completely prevent acidic etching from things like wine, lemons, juice, or other acidic foods.
And yes… apparently kiwis can do damage too!
The great news is that marble restoration can be done again in the future without damaging or devaluing the stone. So if years from now you want another refresh, the process can simply be repeated.
They Even Repaired a Chip
We also had a chipped area on one of the countertops from an accident with a vase.
Brittany and her team repaired the damaged spot so well that it honestly looks like it never happened. She jokingly referred to it as “plastic surgery for stone,” and that description could not be more accurate.
Why This Matters for Homeowners
One of the biggest takeaways from this experience is realizing how much life can be brought back into existing stone surfaces.
Instead of replacing countertops entirely, restoration can often:
Save money
Preserve the beauty of natural stone
Improve the overall appearance of your home
Help prepare a home for sale
Cleaner Image Marble works on:
Marble
Granite
Quartzite
Quartz
Showers
Floors
Outdoor stone surfaces
If the stone already exists, there’s a good chance it can be restored, cleaned, or maintained instead of replaced.
A Great Option Before Selling Your Home
If you’re thinking about selling your home, details like countertops and stone surfaces can make a huge impact on buyers.
Fresh, clean, restored surfaces help homes feel more updated, cared for, and move-in ready — without the cost of a full renovation.
If you’d like an introduction to Brittany and the team at Cleaner Image Marble, or if you’re preparing your home for the market and wondering which updates are worth doing, I’d love to help.
